Christophe de la Fontaine was born in 1976 in Luxembourg. He graduated in industrial design in 2002 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, taught by Richard Sapper.
From 2002 to 2010, Christophe de la Fontaine was leading the Patricia Urquiola design department – nevertheless, he never stopped working independently and participating in numerous art and design exhibitions, becoming one of Rosenthal’s most awarded designers.
In 2010 he opened his own design office based in Milan, leading to co-founding the DANTE – Goods And Bads in 2012 with his partner, German contemporary artist Aylin Langreuter. Aylin Langreuter and Christophe de la Fontaine have been appointed professors of Industrial Design at State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart in November 2018.
